Biography
Jim Hawkins is a nationally recognized contract law expert, publishing articles on this topic in Science, the UCLA Law Review, the Minnesota Law Review, and the Harvard Journal on Legislation, among many other journals. He advises clients on transactional matters and litigation relating to contracts. Frequently sought out as an expert on contract law and lending issues by the media, Jim has been quoted in a variety of newspapers including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the Washington Post and has done presentations at CLEs and conferences, including at Yale, Harvard, and Stanford Law Schools.
He earned his JD from the University of Texas where he was first in his class, clerked for the Honorable Jerry E. Smith of the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, practiced law at Norton Rose Fulbright, and taught as a full professor at the University of Houston before joining Daniels & Tredennick.
