Biography

A native Houstonian, Hal Koelsch is proud to work for and within the community he grew up in. Hal first became interested in law while attending Baylor University, where he studied the philosophy of law. Hal graduated from Baylor University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.

Prior to attending law school, Hal worked with students as a tutor. Since then, he consistently applies the same level of compassion and dedication required of an educator to his legal work. Hal graduated cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 2024. While in law school, he was the lead senior articles editor of the Houston Journal of International Law. In 2023, Hal was named the Houston Journal of International Law’s Editor of the Year.

Hal focuses primarily on commercial litigation and personal injury. Hal has also worked on matters involving constitutional law, with a focus on First Amendment issues.
