Bill brings more than three decades of experience in commercial litigation and entertainment law to clients across the publishing, film, television and music industries. His practice includes advising authors, talent management organizations, film and TV financiers and producers, musicians and music managers on intellectual property protection, licensing, corporate structuring, and a wide range of entertainment-related issues. In addition to his entertainment work, Bill maintains a broad commercial litigation practice with extensive first-chair trial, arbitration, and appellate experience in state and federal courts.
Before joining Daniels & Tredennick, Bill served in multiple leadership roles in private practice, including a decade as Managing Partner of Buck Keenan LLP, where he oversaw all business operations while managing an active litigation and entertainment docket. He also practiced with Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley & Norton, LLP, supporting film development and financing projects and representing creative professionals and businesses in entertainment-related matters. Earlier in his career, he practiced at Bracewell LLP, where he gained substantial trial and courtroom experience handling complex commercial disputes.
Bill earned an LL.M. from UCLA School of Law with a specialization in Media, Entertainment, Technology & Sports Law, where he served on the UCLA Entertainment Law Review. He holds a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from Sewanee: The University of the South. Outside the legal field, he has worked for over two decades with CBS Sports as a production assistant for PGA and major golf tournaments.
