Biography

Gene Egdorf has been a trial lawyer and litigator for 30 years, handling a wide variety of cases on both sides of the docket. Gene is particular well-known in legal circles for his tenacity, his meticulous preparation of cases, the ability to achieve successful results, and the wide-ranging diversity of his practice.

After travelling nationwide for several years as part of a military family, Gene finally found his home in Houston mid-2nd grade. Gene attended North Shore High School, and then the University of Texas for his undergraduate and legal studies, where he graduated with Honors and accolades.

Gene began his career handling commercial and personal injury litigation on behalf of defendants, but soon expanded and diversified his practice to handle all types of cases and for all parties.

This led to Gene’s move to The Lanier Law Firm, which at the time had only four lawyers. Gene developed a commercial litigation practice, including several high-profile antitrust cases that helped pave the way for wider access to cheaper and innovative medical devices. Gene has handled nearly every type of commercial matter imaginable, including employment and patent cases. However, he also took on any and all other matters, including medical malpractice, products liability, defective pharmaceuticals, and other catastrophic injuries. These included the groundbreaking Lloyd v NCAA case which resulted in sickle cell testing for collegiate athletes that has been touted in medical journal publications as having saved dozens of young lives.

After nearly 20 years, Gene moved on to Shrader & Associates to begin another commercial litigation practice and take on the NCAA again regarding CTE and other brain damage in collegiate football players. While these cases remain ongoing, Gene was the lead trial lawyer in the first national trial and achieved the first settlement in CTE litigation. During his time at the firm, Gene also handled an antitrust case, patent cases, breach of contract cases, personal injuries, and products liability matters.

Looking for more challenges and an even more diversified practice, Gene has joined the experienced trial lawyers at Daniels & Tredennick and continues to handle all types of cases for those in need.
